Now that you’re packed up with accommodation options for the Soweto Marathon, let’s look at how you can get to the start line.

How To Get To The Start Line For The Soweto Marathon

If you’re staying close to the start line, I know it might be tempting to walk there, but it’s very important to keep your safety in mind.

The Soweto Marathon typically kicks off around 5:30 AM, which means the surroundings may still be dark, potentially posing safety risks.

For your well-being, strongly consider joining a group of fellow runners. There’s strength in numbers, and traveling with a group can enhance your overall safety.

Always keep in mind that your safety and arriving on time is very important.

Alternatively, you can use your own transportation or rely on e-hailing services like Uber or Bolt to get dropped off near the start line. Keep in mind that parking might be limited due to the event. To avoid any stress or delays, it’s wise to give yourself an additional 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the start line.

This extra time buffer will help you steer clear of potential traffic jams or unforeseen obstacles, ensuring a smoother and stress-free start to your race day.
